Automatic Website Backups
We were like a lot of people in this world. We understood the
importance of backing up our servers, and recommended doing so to
colleagues, but never actually backed up our own servers or computers. A
lot of people asked us why this was the case, and to be honest, we had
no clue. So we decided to sit down one evening and figure out why-- the
results were thought-provoking:
So why not simply lift the hassle of remembering to regularly backup? You tell us what you want backed up (including any MySQL databases), and we'll provide you with a small password-protected PHP script (more languages coming soon) to place on your server. Every hour, one of our servers will have a short conversation with the script. If there have been any changes to the monitored portions of the file system or any of the monitored databases, we'll take a backup of your site. If not, we'll check again in another hour.
Backups (which are compressed tarballs and are only a fraction of the size of the decompressed files) can be downloaded through ServeControl 24/7.
We keep the last hourly backup from Sunday, the last hourly backup from Thursday, and the three most recent hourly backups.
Automatic Website Backups costs $10.75/month and comes with 2 GBs of free monthly storage. Each additional 1 GB costs $3/month.
